Imma Prieto
Director of Museu Tàpies
Imma Prieto is a curator, researcher, and writer. She was the director of Es Baluard Contemporary Art Museum of Palma and currently directs Museu Tàpies. As for her teaching career, she has taught for over eleven years in different Catalan universities. Some of her courses include Theory and Aesthetics of Contemporary Art and New Media, Theory of Image, and Curatorship with Audiovisual Media. She has collaborated with various universities in their Master and postgraduate programmes, and conferences in Spain and abroad.
She has also participated in various catalogues, research books, and specialised communication media. She was the manager of the European research group ELAA (European Live Art Archive, 2008-2012), comprised of Oxford University, the University of Girona, and the Glogauair art residency in Berlin. She has also collaborated with other international research groups such as “Emergence of Video Art in Europe” (1960-1980) with Université Paris 8. In 2017, she created her first documentary Eco de Primera Mort and in 2018 she was awarded the GAC International Art Critic Award. She has also been the member of various juries, including: Velázquez Award (Spain, 2021), Parliament of the Balearic Islands (Spain, 2020), International Art Biennial in Cuenca (Ecuador, 2018), among others.
